The Australian Government is committing $14.7 billion to the ‘Building the Education Revolution’ (BER) program over the next three years. This is a critical component of the ‘Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan’ and will provide infrastructure funding so that each of Australia’s 9,540 schools can meet the needs of 21st century students and teachers.
The BER funding is split into three key areas; Primary Schools for the 21st Century, Science and Language Centres for 21st Century, Secondary Schools and the National School Pride Program. As part of this program FMSA, in conjunction with SKM Davis Langdon Project Managers, is involved in the upgrade of around 30 schools in the Western Metropolitan, Barwon South Western and Grampians Regions.
FMSA have also designed 3 primary school additions for the Catholic Education Office – Ballarat Diocese.
The first round of schools projects is currently nearing completion and Rounds 2 and 3 schools are under construction.
