While in today’s fast paced studio environment you can’t beat the flexibility and speed of CAD documentation, there is something special that the old hand drawings have over the new clean lines of CAD.
Having been in the game for almost 50 years, you can bet we have some beautiful examples that prove that sometimes nothing beats putting pen to paper.
In fact, sketching and exploration by hand is still a key part of the design process for the team. Be it at the desk, around a meeting table or at the drawing board (yes, we have an actual drawing board) many of our solutions start as they have done for years – with pen and paper.
Here are a few images literally from the drawing board, and from the archives.
