FMSA Architecture is a multi-disciplinary design practice servicing the key disciplines of architecture, interior design, urban design and project management.

Established in 1969, FMSA Architecture has gained a reputation for innovative design, value adding solutions and efficient management of our teams and projects.

With a vibrant mix of youth and experience, our team of 26 are experienced in providing innovative and professional advice throughout all stages of project development. Operating from our head office in North Melbourne we have the capacity to deliver projects on a local and national scale.

At FMSA, new thinking and application are the result of continual refinement of ideas, systems and processes which have been successfully applied in sectors such as education, tourism, residential, government, aged care, retail, commercial and urban design.

FMSA is committed to developing its contribution to environmentally sustainable building design, and provides professional services to Government, institutions and private developers across Australia. As professional service providers, we acknowledge our responsibility to ensure that an appropriate level of service is provided and that the rights of our clients and associated parties are considered in servicing a project.

In April 2017 our Quality Management System was formally certified by International Certifications and found to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems-Requirements.

Key Staff

Greg Anson
Managing Director

Joining FMSA in 1994, Greg is responsible for several of FMSA’s major government projects and housing developments that are setting new benchmarks in sustainable, energy efficient design and contemporary built environments. Greg has extensive experience interpreting client briefs and formulating responsive client engagement strategies. A key consideration in Greg’s approach is the integration of sustainable principles to form an architectural language that is relevant and meaningful.

As a Project Director Greg has delivered several of the practices major projects including the ACGP housing development, Monash University Gippsland Campus Student Residences and the Moorabbin Law Courts.


Riordan Gough
Director

With over Riordan has 20 years’ experience in architectural practice working across a range of residential, institutional and commercial projects. He is an experienced project architect capable of leading architectural and consultant teams through a variety of project types and building procurement methods.

Joining FMSA in 2005, Riordan has worked successfully with several Government and private clients, including Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP), Victoria Police, Karingal and Headspace.


Michael Fooks
Principal

A founding director of the practice, Michael has more than 40 years of experience as a practising architect. Michael has developed particular expertise in large multi-unit residential development projects, senior living and aged-care facilities, commercial offices and heritage building analysis. His expertise and detailed design approach have underpinned the practice as has his detailed experience of planning and construction processes.


Peter Sandow
Principal

A strong and creative designer, Peter has more than 40 years of experience in a broad range of architectural fields including residential, education, tourism and community infrastructure projects.

Peter has a talent for producing eye-catching architectural design statements. His architectural skills are underpinned by a sound understanding of environmental and urban design as exemplified by recent projects at MLC Marshmead Campus, the Alpine School Snowy River Campus and PICAC campuses.
